Job Description

Overall Objective and Expectations

- Take ownership of the processes to ensure the documents and product configuration supporting all key functions (e.g., manufacturing, purchasing, etc.) are correct and to the correct revision.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide documentation support during new product development and/or product changes, including document creating and/or updates, and transition to the manufacturing floor. Examples:

  • Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Engineering Masters.

- Ensure documented information f only the latest revision is available at all points of use. Examples:

  • Assembly instructions.
  • Test procedures.

- Lead the Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Mfg. on the documents to be brought to CCB.
  • Ensure that documents get reviewed and approved in a timely fashion, per schedule dictated by factors such as spending sales orders, new product development schedule, etc.

- Own and control the Qualified Parts List (QPL). Examples of tasks:

  • Manage the request for new parts qualifications.
  • Ensure new parts are properly approved by Engineering, and a part number has been assigned.
  • Update the overall QPL when new parts are added, but also when old parts are deemed obsolete.

- In conjunction with the QA Manager and/or direct Superior, maintain organization and disposition of quality records.

- Lead or participate in an effort to implement digital documentation on the manufacturing floor.


Reporting Structure

- Reports to the Operations Manager.
